Food label RED FLAGS!

March 26, 2022

Trans fatty acids can increase general systemic inflammation in the body. Inflammation in the skin = increased risk for acne lesions and skin conditions like dermatitis.

How to identify trans fats?

If a food label lists any kind of oil as an ingredient and has a longer shelf life, such as a cake or muffin with an expired date six months in the future, it means it contains trans fats.

But Fat can also be good and reduce inflammation and skin conditions.

Omega 3, 6, and 9 play a vital role in skin health and overall health.

Note Fat’s need to be balanced, and a plan needs to be tailormade for your body and lifestyle. Don’t buy any supplement’s just because they tell you it is beneficial for your skin.

Until you are ready for skin health or nutrition coaching, focus on healthy Fats you can find in a store.

  • Salmone
  • Tuna
  • Flex seeds

If you want to take supplements, note this:

1000 mg of EPA and 1000 mg of DHA can reduce acne. Start with this dosage.
